Javier G. Vande Steeg, President and co-founder of Asset Preservation, Inc. has been involved in the §1031 exchange industry for over twenty years. Javier focused on creating a company that is an industry leader in securing its client’s funds and property. This was accomplished in 1993 through the majority acquisition of the Company by Stewart Title Company of Houston, Texas. Asset Preservation is one of the most respected national “Qualified Intermediaries” in the United States and has successfully completed over 140,000 §1031 exchanges throughout the nation. 

Currently, Javier spends a great deal of his time speaking to attorneys, CPA’s and real estate professionals across the country. His annual speaking engagements include The Ohio State Bar Association, NBAA (National Business Aircraft Association) Tax Committee, ALTA (American Land & Title Association), GMAC Real Estate, state organizations for the Society of CPA’s and local Bar Associations to name a few. His courses are always practical, real-life and hands-on.

In addition to speaking, Javier stays at the cutting edge of the ever changing §1031 industry by monitoring tax court cases, letter rulings, gray area development and keeping in contact with the IRS and lawmakers for any potential regulatory changes.

Javier received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Finance from California State University at Sacramento.
